Find Ancestors

hi i am looking for relatives of billy (william) gilbert,who lives in liverpool,he is my father,i think i have found him,but dont want to contact him as i know he has another family,who probably dont know he was married before,so i am putting this out hoping that people concerned might suspect they might have relatives,billy was married to rose smith in warrington cheshire where they lived in 1960 and he had two sons,who have never seen him since he walked out in 1963 and moved back to liverpool and went on to have another family,if you think you could help i would be very grateful many thanks regards ian williams mothers name was whittle(maiden name i think)

thanks very much for the advice i am really grateful for it,there is nothing showing up in any trees at all,as i said i think i have found him but because i know he has another family i dont want to barge in there,and really i know its a stab in the dark but i was hoping that his family would be trying to do a family tree search,so it would be less of a shock thanks guys for your help regards ian

is there ayone you know who could perhaps be a "go-between" for you?

to be honest ann billy walked out on mum when i was ten days old and my brother was 14 months(he died when he was 34 my brother that is)and nobody has seen him since,the only thing my mum was told was that he started a new family in the late 60s,i dont know why i want to contact him,but obviously there must be a need,i have not ever seen a photo of him,as i said i think i have found him so i suppose the only other way to go is send him a letter thanks very very much ann you are so sweet to try and help regards ian

I do hope you manage to get some closure on this - one way or another - a letter is a good idea - not much more you can do I suppose
