The name Bisset came to Scotland from France. It was the surname of allies of William the conqueror.Descendants owned lands around Aboyne in Aberdeenshire and Beauly near Inverness.The clan Bisset has its seat at Lessendrum near Huntly,Aberdeenshire.The Bisset name also has close links to the Frasers of Lovat and the Grants of Glenmoriston through the marriages of Bisset heiresses.
