My grandfather on My Dad's side was an interesting character. I have just discovered that my grandmother was his second wife - my Dad's family did not know this. In his service record, it records that he married Maria Bond in the "Register Office, Rotherham, York" on "1/3" (no year is given). However, when he joined the army (the 11th Hussars) in March 1900, he was not married. I can find no record of this marriage so far. Any ideas.
