My wife,s grandmother is listed as Annie Bramhall on her marriage certificate. However we now know she was born Annie Cottam at Ashton in Makerfield,Lancs. 1881. She had a mauve ribbon which my wife still has, that commemorates the death of her brother Fred Bramhall in WW1. I have looked him up on the Commonwealth War Graves Site and discovered his Parents were John&Sarah Bramhall. I assume therefore that Annie must have been adopted by them,so if anyone knows of the family in the Ashton in Makerfild area please make contact. Thank you Graham Williams. |
