Trying to find Butler

Hi, Trying to locate information on the Butlers from Edgeley Stockport, Cheshire. John Scott Butler (My G.Grandfather) Married Margaret (nee Cottrell), in the 1900's. They lived in Edgeley, Stockport. John died in 1946, Margaret died in 1962. I would love to find out more about the Butler side of the family, They had a son Thomas Butler (Tom) in 1908, who Married Beatrice Jones (My grandmother) in Aug 1940. Tom died as a result of war injury in April 1945. Beatrice and Tom had a daughter Margaret (my Mother in Aug 1941). Little is known of the original Butlers, though it was said that John originated from Scotland... This said, he never stepped foot on Scottish soil, but did take a 2 week holiday alone to Dublin every year of his married life, could it be that he had family in Dublin??? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks |
