Trying to find Butler

I am trying to find out about my maternal grandparents who lived in your. Their names were James and Bate Butler. My Grandfather worked on the railways and died in either 1955 or 56. They had two children who survived, My uncle who was Arthur Butler who I believe was born around 1918. My mother was Nancy Butler who was born in 1925. I am told my grandfather had brothers one whom worked in the mines. He also had relatives in the Midlands. I have beem told that grandma's parents worked and lived in the Bootham Distict of York. they weer with connected to either the work house , hospital or Asylum. They might have been gate keepers. we have no hard evidence. |
