Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 0 Send Message	Mike Butler. Trying to find antecedents of Charles Leonard (Paddy) Butler, believe born Drogheda ca. 1890. Joined a Hussar Regiment (Sergeant?) was noted for his skill with a lance, spent some time in Egypt and was injured by gas on the Somme. Invalided to York (where he may have originally enlisted) he married Haidee Mary Horner and subsequently became an NSPCC inspector, which he still was, in Halifax, when I was born in 1948 - the first of his grandchildren.
