I have some very sketchy information about my great uncle ( the brother of Martha nellie Butler- her dob was 1910) no dob for him, no place of birth- it wouldve been suffolk /hampshire area.
My mother doesnt remember his name -but remembers him visiting his sister in Portsmouth in the late 70's- the story goes he went out to Austrailia, and on the way home to England met a woman on a ship who he then married within a couple of days- never made it home as he went to New Zealand and settled there with his wife.
This person could possibly still be alive- or wouldve died recently- any butlers in NZ who could throw some light on this?

There are 1132 listings on the white pages in new Zealand- a phenonemal amount to write to.
