Hi everyone,
I've now decided to give up the ghost on my search for john montgomery davidson's birth cert.(1890/91) and his parents john m davidson and agnes neil's marriage cert. in scotland. I have exhausted every avenue ,and if i spend any more money on scottishpeople i'll need a bank loan.
I have been on free bmd rootsweb but nothing ,it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
What i would really like to know is how do i go about looking for it in ireland .
Can anyone direct me to a good site in ireland to search for them .

Neil a long shot, where was Agnes Neil born? I have one born in Ireland last seen in Glasgow in 1871.

Mine had a sister Sarah who married a Davidson

I don't know where any of them came from alway's thought it was scotland but only could find john (the son's) marrige and death cert. both in scotland .
If i could find the marrige cert. of john montgomery davidson and agnes neil this would be a start.

the john montgomery davidson born in 1915 was my uncle the third john montgomery davidson in the line.
I wrote to edinburgh and asked them to look for the birth cert.but they said no said child born of thoses said parents.although it was never said he was'nt scottish.
That is why i'm now looking for his parents marriage cert.if i can find that it would make it easier.

The john montgomery davidson you found was my uncle who died in WW2,he was the third john montgomery davidson in the family .
the other john davidson you found i'm afraid does'nt tie in as my john was aged 23 at time of marriage in 1914.
I think my best bet is to start looking for the marriage of his parents JOHN M DAVIDSON &AGNES NEIL, if i could find that it would be something to go on,

Agnes married John Montgomery 27/09/1878 in Partick, Scotland

John was a steam ship something & the son of John Montgomery & Mary Jane (?) Forsyth

John and Jessica are the marriage that took place in 1914, when that John was 23?

Irish records are on http://www.irish-roots.ie but you'll the luck of the Irish to find anything and a mortgage to boot!

By the way, how id youcome by Agnes' surname? Are you sure about it.

Any idea of occupation of any of the JOhn M's and have yougot them on any of the censuses??
