Hi is any one free to do me a search, i am looking for the parents of George William Elliott born 1917 in middlesborough, i would appreciate any information,regards Kevin

You need to buy his birth certificate. Have you bought his marriage cert for his fathers name? Who did he marry? Have you checked all the trees on here using search trees tab at the top of the page.

This looks like it may be the birth ref. Use the ref to buy his birth cert for £7 from GRO online for dads name and mums full maiden name, dads occupation and the address of his birth. Mums surname is being shown as Thomasson. Do you know if he had any siblings?

Had a quick look on freebmd for a marriage between male Elliott and female Thomasson, between 1895 and 1917, and only one possible came up:-

Marriages Jun 1908 (>99%)
ASHWORTH Arthur Bolton 8c 787

but to be sure you need to buy the cert.

edit:- by cert. I do mean the birth cert. not the marriage one. This will give mothers maiden name, which will confirm or not if the marriage is the correct one!!

This is the only male Elliott to female Thomasson marriage I can see on FreeBMD:-

Spouse is Annie Thomasson.

You need to buy the birth cert using the reference given in my post above to be sure you have the right line.
