Looking for any information on Joseph Elliott and and his son James. Joseph married Matilda Vigar in 1836 at Domer, Somerset. They were Church of England.

James was their first child and to my knowledge was born abt 1838 in Tintinhull., Yeovil. He came with his family to Australia in 1854.

Thank you to any one who can help

Fond regards

Mel, Thank you so much for your help. Do you know how I could find out baptism details for James?

Cheers

I tried for the bap details on IGI but nothing came up. I am told they rotate the site so if you try you may get something.

This is all I get on IGI and it is a submitted record which you can't really trust.

New South Wales, Australia, Assisted Immigrant Passenger Lists, 1828-1896
about James Elliott
Name: James Elliott
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1839
Age: 15
Voyage Arrival Date: 3 Oct 1854
Vessel Name: Lady Ann
Origin Location: Tintinhill, Somerset

I can't seem to find your family on the 1841 census at all.

How annoying!!!!!!!!

Have also tried to find a picture of the ship they went over in but only found one of Lady Joslyn. Lovely ship though and I should think that Lady Ann would have been about the same.
