Member Since: August 2009 Posts: 4 Send Message	Hi, I have just started to do a family tree for my Mother and have got stuck. My Mother is not sure of her Grandmother's maiden name, so how do I find this out. Her Grandfather was Arthur Elliott born during 1868 in Brighton, her Grandmother was Caroline Laus (Laws) or De Laus and was born in Portsmouth during 1871. I have found the marriage record from this site which I think is for Arthur Elliott, which says that it was registered in April, May and June 1888. Arthur Elliotts parents were Edward and Sarah Elliott. If I phone the Brighton & Hove Registery Office will they be able to track the right certificate down or will I have to buy lots until I find the right one. Thanks for any help. 	certificates can be bought on line from Gro.gov.uk for £7 do not pay more, take the exact details given here say yes fo r>> have you got reference details ? It takes about a week by post. Registry offices can charge a lot more. Free BMD is a good site to search, this site only redirects you to other sires.
