My Grandfather Thomas Francis Elliott b1875 place unknown.
His father William Francis Elliott, a master tailor, died pre 1911.
I can't find either in Census Records.
I know Thomas was in India around 1900.
I know there was talk that some family when to Canada but don't know if this included William or if Thomas was born there.
I know there was talk of Scottish connections.
I have tried all the UK Census for William (a tailor) with a son Thomas b1875 and many Canadan and USA Records too.
Does anyone have a master tailor William Francis Elliiott or a Gx? Uncle Thomas Francis Elliott?

Thanks Marilyn, I must admit I didn't expect a reply.
Tempting as it is, I do have Thomas's marriage cert stating his age as 35 in 1911 so DOB 1875/6. He could ofcouse have lied but I haven't been able to trace a Thomas b1871 father William a tailor.
I'll certainly save the info you've provided, after all it was again only his info on the marriage cert that gave me William!
Thanks again for trying.
