Hi Sean Harper, just started my family tree and concentrating on my surname first. I was born september 1957 My father, now deceased, was born 20/12/1931His brother was George, and sisters were Mary and Jean. My grandfather was John Worrall Harper, b 23/03/1896, he married Edith Ashcroft, and lved 29 Spray st, St Helens. My grandfather had 3 brothers, Josiah, william and George, later two died during ww1, and sisters Ruth louisa, May , Florence abd Elizabeth. All born in St Helens,. As far as I can check, my grandfathers dad was called James b. about 1870 in Brettell lane, staffordshire ?. He married Mary who was born 1973 in St Helens, ?. Unconfirmed as yet. His father possibly a George b about 1847 staffordshire, married a Louisa. They had three brothers john, Richard and george and three sisters Mary, Louisa and Alice Some of my relatives, descided from Josiah or Josh, emmigrated to OZ. Any info, pls that cvould help a novice get going sean |
