Margaret Rivers married Thomas David Morgan July 1848 at st Mary ( looks like) Stratford Middlesex district Poplar. I cant find her on any census can anyone help me. Also if fathers name is on their marriage cert. and occupation would they still do that if he was deceased without mentioning it

Joy your statement does not make sense?

"Also if fathers name is on their marriage cert. and occupation would they still do that if he was still alive at the time without mentioning that he was deceased"

ahhh, yes Joy i see now...

well you see..... unless someone asked her if her father was alive they probably didn't think to mention he was dead! bearing in mind they had only just started doing the registration that way....

alot of certs do not have mentioned the 'living state' of the father.

annoying huh?

There's a few possibilities on the 1841 and 1851 censuses. Can you tell us Thomas' occupation on his marriage certificate please.

Can't find her on any later censuses.

IGI has children of William and Margaret Rivers christened Stepney:

Margaret - 1826; John - 1827 and Isabella Jane - 1840

Looks like William Rivers died 1840 -- 1843 as there's a possible marriage for Margaret Rivers and William Thompson in 1843 - Poplar
