Trying to find Morgan

Trying to find Thomas Morgan Blacksmith with children at least Mary Ann b.1876 and Thomas (born later). Mary Ann lived and died in Ystradfodwg, Pentre Mid Glamorgan and my mother remembers her well but the big surprise was the place of birth on the 1901 census - Glan Meath, Ireland. We thought Mary Ann was Welsh!! We have been unable to find this place name either so any suggestions will be welcome. The family story is that Mary Ann was working as a nanny and kept her younger brother Thomas with her as they were orphans. She then married the Grandfather of the children she was nannying for! Mary Ann married Griffith Davies 1899 and went on to have three children. Thomas the brother reportly died in WW1. Anyone out there recognise this mysterious lady? Any suggestions where to look next?
