Find Ancestors

Hi I am trying to trace Maud Nicholls and not having much luck! She married Freethy Champion in 1917 and had 3 sons, the youngest born around 1922, then after this appears to vanish into thin air! They were from Cornwall and she may have died when her sons were teenagers but I can't find a record of this anywhere. I do know that there were rumours of her going into a mental hospital/asylum so any help would be greatly appreciated.
