To the best of my knowledge she was still in London in the 1940s, possibly Streatham, I think she ran a small cafe.

Yes Christine I think youve got it, the Garrett name certainly rings a bell, how can we find out if she had children or when she died. My father spoke a lot about her and she sounded like a very nice kind lady.
Thank you so much you are a star

Wow Christine I could have lots of cousins that I didnt know existed, you are very kind to help like this, thank you so much. The name Frank was mentioned quiet often by my father could he also have been a son I wonder. This is very exciting.

Slow down.
that was a suggestion.
You will need to confirm it first.
For a start that was Harriett not Louisa Harriett. Not impossible but not perfect. And it is James not Thomas James. I am still looking for other matches.

The initial that has come up several times is M.
The letter M can be confused with H as it has two straight sides. Trust me I know as it comes up in my line of work. I was wondering where yoou got the name from as it is not on what we have found so far. I am still not 100% of the 1901 census. Have you tried the 1911. we would want to find Frank with them. Any ideas on his age?
