It's family myth in my case, that we are from the wrong side of the blanket from the Earls of Scarbrough! Possible but not probable; nevermind. The difference in spelling, dates back to the first railway time tables when Scarborough was chosen in favour of our version. Again nevermind, as it only means a town on a hill like Hilton, which doesn't impress me. But are we anglo saxon or norsemen? I've got ancestors in the North East, but none recent.
