Hi Jacky,

I think the marriage you are looking for is this one:

Margaret J Hartley - Thomas A Smith, 1919/3,
Haslingden, 8e/326.
I know there's an awful lot of Tom Smiths around but they don't all marry Hartleys!!

Hi Jacky

Just to add my 10 penneth.

I've been having a look on Ancestry for common registration districts for births using Dinah and Benjamin as I think the most uncommon. The only link I could see for them was Gateshead pre 1912 with no mothers name. Most of the other names appear there but it was a large town even then.
The family could have moved around and I found a Thomas born 1915 in Holbeck, mother Hartley and Veronica born 1920 in Holbeck, mother called Hartley. Found a death of Thomas in Holbeck 1916-1918.

Nothing certain but more research in these districts could be promising.

Hope this helps a little.
