No sign of Flory H. Still looking for Henry and Mary A.

Cannot find birth record for either twin (?).

In 1891 Sarah F. seems to be a boarder in the home of Mary Thorpe who also has her daughter Ruth Thorpe living with her. Ruth is 31 born Chesterfield, Derby, the same Ruth living with the Smith family in 1881.

Presume that Mary Ann Smith (mother)died aged 47 June 1889 9c 193
Henry Smith (father)died Sept 1882 aged 35 9c 198 so that the children were looked after with others.Have found a Sarah Francis Smith born Dec 1877 9c 349 do you know what Sarah's middle name was. Just wondering whether someone mixed up the two names thinking there was just the one birth.JLe

That certainly looks liker her, Janet. She was Sarah F. on both censuses. However there was no other Smith with same page number so I'm sure she wasn't a twin. There is a Florence Augusta, same place, same quarter but not on same page and our Flory had middle initial H.

BTW: Frances-female, Francis-male. I always remember it by thinking of the letter i representing a certain male organ. (Am I allowed to say that on GR?)

Hi I think I have cracked it ,thanks to you all.
Flory H must be Florence Augusta, same birth as Sarah Frances.
I reckoned that their mother's maiden name was Shale and lo and behold ,where was Florence living in 1891? With the Shale grandparents in Wolverhampton.
