Dear Dee

George Marsh Smith born 1849/50 Son but I don't know of any siblings except they may be another son Edward George. Father Edward George was dead by the time George Marsh married in 1870 so I would only be guessing at Father Edward being born about 1810-1830. I have no record of Mother's name but wondered if perhaps her surname had been Marsh. I tried for birth Cert of George but had no luck George and Smith together being hugely common.

Thanks Again for contact.

Dear Dee,

Thank you again for your info. George married Tryphena but she frequently called herself Sarah just to confuse us.

Having real problems finding George with Edward. What address did George give on his marriage certificate?

Hoping that his mother will still be there in 1871........... fingers crossed.

Hi Josie,

I've had a good look for the address in the census returns.......... I can't find it, I've also had a good look for George with Edward, or just born or living in Shoreditch or Bethnal Green ................... still no luck.

Dear Dee,

Back again. Witnesses to his marriage Henry Reeves, Emelia C Taylor.

Hope this is helpful.

I feel I am imposing on you more than a bit and wondered if I could make a donation to a Charity of your choice to make up for it?

Hi Josie,

thank you for your kind offer, your thanks are more than enough though. I enjoy helping others with their ancestry when I can, so don't worry you're not imposing.

I will try and see if there is a link with the witnesses.............. your Smiths are very elusive though, keep your fingers crossed as I will.

Hi Josie,

No luck with the witnesses, thought I had found 2 possible Smith links........... sadly these turned out to be red herrings.

I'll keep looking though.

Dear Dee,

Thank you so much. I will keep looking also but on past performance don't hold out a lot of hope.
