have you tried friends reunited or any of the social networking sites? if you know the rough area she grew up in how about a personal notice in the local poaper or local radio. I wish you luck

Hi Nicola,
I too am searching for an adopted birth sibling, our half-brother.
Have you registered on the Adoption Contact Register at the General Records Office? (All the info you need is on their website).
And yes, try NORCAP too.
Also, have you put your sister's birth name in your family tree on here? Have a look in "Search Trees" too.
