I have asked for help on a thead that I have revised with no response, so asking for an individual search.
Information already gathered...
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1216662
LadyKira found 2 Elizabeth Smith daughters, born 1865 and 1867. My Great Great Aunt Elizabeth (Lizzie Cason) was born 1865. To have a second Elizabeth born just a year or 2 later and named the same seems incorrect, but the record was found.
I have just returned to the 1881 census, and there is only 1 Elizabeth Smith, aged 5. There is no record of another Elizabeth Smith that I can find.
Can someone please help me sort this out.
Thanks.

I have copied this from the 'parent' thread..

Based on the 1911 census where Henry listed 14 children born, 7 living, 7 died.
I have living at the time..
Eliza (Fish)
Harriett (Town)
Elizabeth (Lizzie Cason)
Alice (Coomber)
Alfred
John
Henry

Children to have died before 1911
Frederick
George
Emma
Caroline

That leaves 3 more children to find, but I can't seem to find them. I know the Middlesex parish records aren't up to date for that period unfortunately.
Any ideas where to search or if anyone can help please.

If there were 2 Elizabeth's recorded as daughters of Henry and Eliza, then Elizabeth 2 may be another of the deceased children Henry listed in 1911. She would have been 3-4 yrs old in the 1871 census, and is not listed at home with her family. Possible she may have been at another relatives house, but can't find an Elizabeth listed as a visitor or non daughter relative.

Wendy

Neither of those births for Elizabeth have the fathers as a 'grocer'

Edit; Right I see on the 61 he is a labourer

Well those two baps are the same couple as Henry is a Twine Spinner.

Wendy

Wendy Report 5 Jun 2010 11:00

HMMMM.
Well I know that Elizabeth Smith was the sister to Eliza Smith, who was my great grandmother.
I can only see 1 Elizabeth in all records.
Let me go back to the other thread and see what is there that might help.

Name: Harriet Smith
Record Type: Baptism
Date: 15 Nov 1874
Father's Name: Henry Smith
Mother's Name: Eliza Smith
Parish: St Barnabas, Homerton
Borough: Hackney
County: Middlesex

father is rope maker same address

Now this conflicts with all of the census data...Henry was not a rope maker..he was a shopkeeper.
Yet 'my' Harriett was born 1874.

Wendy Report 5 Jun 2010 11:38

OOOOO, just had a thought.............
LK found
Name: Elizabeth Smith
Record Type: Baptism
Date: 14 Sep 1865

and...

Name: Elizabeth Smith
Record Type: Baptism
Date: 10 May 1867

Of course...they are BAPTISM records, not birth dates.
The first Elizabeth could have died shortly after, and the very next child they named Elizabeth again.....'my' Elizabeth.

Is it possible to find a death for Elizabeth in the time frame?

I may have got lost here but you have Elizabeth as Mrs Cason but on 1911 census it shows Harriet as Widow Cason. ??

Wendy

Wendy Report 5 Jun 2010 11:58

WTF????
Oh crap, I am sooo bad. That's what I get for trying to cook dinner and respond on here at same time.
When LK added the data to the old thread, it was JASON, and I immediately presumed it should have been CASON.
I have just had a close look at my copy, and it is TOWN.
Will correct the data.
So sorry.

Caroline's bap Henry is a Twine Spinner living 7 Brook St.

Wendy

Wendy Report 5 Jun 2010 12:54

What is going on????

Duplicate family ?? LOL

Most definitely have Caroline Smith living with her father Henry Smith, shopkeeper, at 7 Brook St.
Just double checked the census, and added the information on here.
