Does anyone have any information about Maurice Keith Smith born 11 July 1929 in Cleethorpes Lincolnshire. He was the son of Stanley Bullen Smith and married June Rose Woods in 1949. He was a trawlerman and then a publican in Lincolnshire. The last known sighting was in 1973 on Hayling Island. Does anyone know anything after 1973? Any information would be much appreciated.

He could easily be alive - he'd only be 80

Thanks for this. Maurice was definitely born in 1929 (informant close relative) but he certainly became a man of mystery in later life and it is possible that the date of birth on the death reg is wrong I suppose. It might be worth looking at the certificate to see who the informant was. Thanks again.

As far as I know there were 4 children of the marriage and apart from Maurice they are all accounted for. The last information I have about Maurice is that he was working in a holiday camp in 1973 and was seen by a member of the family As you say he would only be 80 but from 1973 until now he has not been in contact with his wife (who died in 2008) or other members of the family. Perhaps he never wanted to be found or maybe left the country. Anyway thanks for your help.
