You need to give some details for someone to help you.

Names , year of birth and area.

Which census do you refer to?

Jennifer, first have you looked at the image to check if she belonged to the next household and been transcribed incorrectly? Next, does it give her relationship to the head of the household? She may be a lodger or servant.

Has she got the same surname as your family or other surnames in your ancestor's family? She may be a distant relative?

PM received from Jennifer....

She mentioned on my great great grandmother census record as Sarah Webster living with her husband James Smith and Abraham Smith son and Ethel. No one in the family knows who she is???

We know that her Abraham was sent away and his father remarried she could be his father second wife child but no one knows her.

It looks as if 1901 has their ages mistranscribed as they are the same as 1911 and I can't find them in 1891. This MIGHT be Ethel.

Births Sep 1894
Smith Ethel Ellen Derby 7b 507
OR
Births Sep 1896
Smith Ethel Ellen Derby 7b 585

Marriages Mar 1918
SMITH Ethel E Spurling Derby 7b 1125
There are 7 Spurling/Smith offspring born in Derby.

It is interesting that James & Jane in 1911 have been married for 19 years. So are Sarah & Jane the same woman?

hmm

just checked again re the ages on the 1901 census, the original does read 18 for Abraham and 15 for Ethel

cannot find a birth that matches the 1901 census, but this one matches the 1911

England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915
Name: Abraham James Smith
Year of Registration: 1892
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Derby
County: Derbyshire
Volume: 7b
Page: 663

Yes, the original of 1901 clearly has them in their teens. The enumerator must have mistranscribed or misread from the household form.
