I'm assuming it would say if edward had been married before? |
|||
|
jax | Report | 12 Dec 2010 02:53 |
No it would'nt say whether he was married before just how long he had been married and how many children born to this marriage alive, still living and died |

Ann / Anna / Hannah -- Hanner with an accent ;) -- were basically interchangeable, so I'd say you have the same wife # 1. |

That's interesting, my nans mum is lily and lily spoke many many years ago to her that they had a sister who died in a fire, i guess that's the one. One other thing that mystifies me is that there should be a son called Ernest. He certainly lived due to him attending his fathers funeral. I suspect that since they married in 1891 Florrie was not the 1st born. |

You say the name should read Anna...well Edward filled the form in and thats what he wrote, but remember they were not always literate back then, I have had some strange spellings on that census for my ancestors |

Hmmm... i have the obituary here, and his son Ernest attended the funeral, maybe he had a son from a previous marriage or liason? |

It was Anna I was wondering about having a child before the marriage. |

Aha, good find, K -- I'd tried all Sea* possibilities, but not that one! -- but of course David needs the birth cert to be sure. ;) |
