trying to find info on my Grandfather Herbert Smith not sure where he was born , he met my Grandmother Lilian Ball in Plymouth , she was born in 1902, think he was a few years older, they married in Plymouth early 1920 and moved to Southampton , my mother Pamela Smith was born in 1929, she was second youngest , of i think 5 or 6 Children ,.

yeshis eldest was philip , then Donald , Dorreen , pamela , Monica , my grandad died in Southampton not sure what year but before his wife .

Sorry, I don't see one could be Herbert but of course his death may have been registered withour his middle name or middle initial.

When you buy the marriage certificate come back to this thread if you need census lookups. Just put the details of his occupation and his father's name and occupation and I am sure you will get any assistance that you need.
