He was born in Sheffield around 1911 and his mothers name was Margaret Elizabeth Ross. He went to Rhodesia (Now Zimbabwe), Kenya & Tanzania to live and had sisters Margaret and Nora. He was married to Rosa Thank you Kate Salt
