Trying to find Smith

I am trying to locate my Uncle, WILLIAM CADE SMITH, born 1918, who emigrated to Australia with his wife and children. He unfortunately lost contact with his brother, JAMES. I am keen to contact anyone with details of that side of my family tree. I am also interested in any Smith's known of with CADE in their name as I have been told this was a family name which passed down the line for many, many years, and have evidence of both men and women who had it as a middle name, even third middle name. I am curious as to why? And keen to use the unusuality of the name to assist in my Smith research. I would love to hear from anyone who shares history with me and share what I know with them.
