Member Since: December 2006 Posts: 6 Send Message	Hi all, I'm trying to find out more about my father's family from Tasmania Australia - particularly from the Gawler, Ulverstone area. My great grandfather was William Smith not sure of exact birthdate but he died within 24 hours of his wife Amy/Eliza Leary, possibly born 1882. They both died in 1945. His father was also William and may have had a brother named James. Amy's parents were a James Leary and Eliza Humphreys. They had four sons: Allan/Allen 1914? - 1971? Ira 1917 - 1975 Eric James 1915? - 1943 a POW on Burma Railway, buried in Thailand Clare Westwood, called Colin(my grandfather)1921 - 1974 As far as we know my grandfather Colin is the only one who was married or had children. My grandfather married Mary Audrey Groves in September 1945 in East Preston, Melbourne where my uncle Graeme and father Wayne were born. If anyone has any information on this family it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
