William Smith born c. 1845. He is not to be found with certainty in 1881 but the 1891 Census for Braintree shows being born in Tilbury (Tilbury by Clare?) living in Black Notley Essex with his wife - Emily nee Spooner from Woolpit, Suffolk and their three children - Charles born 1884, John William born 1885 and Francis born 1890. William was employed as a Labourer for the Braintree Local Board He died 1892 in Black Notley. In 1901 Emily is married to William Monk.
