Trying to find information on Hilda SMITH and two brothers, William and Bertie. Bertie grew up believing his name to be Albert. All three were placed in a Catholic orphanage in Aldershot at a young age, but still had contact with their father William SMITH who lived at one time in Western Avenue, Aldershot, Hants. Their estranged mother was Mary (nee POPE). Bertie was born in Western Avenue in 1913. Hilda and William are believed to have been born in Aldershot between 1900 and 1913. Hilda married Joe Churchman, and for many years lived at Chetwode Place, Aldershot. William was at one time married to Jessie ??? and lived in Pegasus Avenue, Aldershot. Any information would be appreciated. |
