Hello again Muriel,

After further consideration, I now doubt that the Humphrey Myddelton who died in 1695 would be your 3xgreat grandfather.
When looking around at other Humphreys I found other posts which I assume were by you suggesting that Humphrey was the son of an Edward Myddelton who died in 1837. That family also has the same very early ancestry I mentioned yesterday, except it is comes down through another line.
My own documents only briefly mention some of the latter generations in that line as I follow down from William Myddelton (1572- 1640) through his son, Fulk (a haberdasher) to Charles who married a Jane Edwards in 1763 whereas you go down from William's other son Humphrey ( a hatter) to the Edward who died in 1837. There is a better source for you to get details of your ancestry. If you look on the web under "FamilySearch Community Trees" you will find your ancestral line, going back as far as Araudr abt 900 and with a good accounting of the sources of information for each generation.
By the way, none of the Myddelton family are yet in my tree on GR as I still need to confirm a lot of data, and have been concentrating on other more direct lines which have 43 ancestral families with pedigrees tracing back to early kings of England and elsewhere.

Hi Muriel,

John 1703 and Thomas 1716 Myddelton were born in the Wrexham area of Denbighshire had siblings Roger 1706, Elenore 1705, Martha 1709 and Anne 1713 but they had no sibling called Humphrey as far as I have found.
However, a Humphrey Myddelton of London who died in 1695 was one of 11 children born to Foulke Myddelton b.11/5/1623 at Gwaynynog and his wife Elizabeth Myddelton b. abt 1620, the daughter of Capt. Roger Myddelton of Plas Cadwgan.
Foulke and Elizabeth were great grandparents of John 1703 and Thomas 1716, and their ancestry can be traced back many generations to Rhirid "y Pothan Flaidd" ap Rhirid who adopted the English surname of Myddelton in 1396. An obscure and doubtful pedigree goes back earlier to Cunedda Wledig abt.380, and even earlier to King Aviragus abt 0015.
If your Humphrey is the one who died in 1695 I could share more information with you, if you contact me as Jan suggests and provide an e-mail address that I could send the documents to.

Muriel, you might not have noticed that Andrew posted this 5 years ago. If you run your cursor over his 'picture' you will see he only ever posted 8 times. It's unlikely he will see your reply.
You can try sending a direct message to him by clicking on his name - if he is registered on Genes with current email address he will be notified of this.
Try looking for other contacts by using 'search all trees', found in search box above.
If you need help, start your own thread and say what you need assistance with, as several of us enjoy doing this and you will get a lot of replies!

Elizabeth (b.1721), Sarah (b.1722) and Mary (b.1723?) were the daughters of William and Sarah Edwards of Croesnewydd, Denbighshire, Wales. Croesnewydd is now part of the Wrexham Industrial Estate. Elizabeth and Sarah were christened at Wrexham.

Elizabeth and Sarah married two Myddelton brothers (John and Thomas), while Mary married Vincent Price. The earlier and later pedigrees of the Myddelton family are generally known to me.

Any information about William Edwards and his wife, Sarah, would be appreciated.
