Find Ancestors

Hello i'm trying to find out information on the parents of my grandad Ronald Stone born 13th July 1919 in I believe Southampton.

But I don't have a clue on how about doing it, and would apprecaite everything I can get.

This is my mum's dad altough she didn't know his parents and neither did his wife Iris Stone apparently he didn't ever talk about them.

I have slowly gathered information from my dad's side and my mum's mum through other tree's but i'm at a blank with my mum's dad Ronald.

I've looked at the index for Sep qtr 1919 and there are four 'Ronald Stones' but none of the them were born in Southampton. The only one is that listed above but he was registered in Dec qtr 1919

Looking at birthdate you've given for your Ronald Stone an Oct-Nov-Dec is a late registration for a July birth.

Looking at the full index there are 4 births of a Ronald Stone in the right quarter.

Ronald Stone in Greenwich
Ronald A Stone in Coventry
Ronald F Stone in Kettering
Ronald W Stone in Cardiff.

Ronald Stone married Iris Margaret Stone

On August the 22nd but I seem to have 2 years 1940 and 1941 so it's one or the other.

I believe his mother may be Caroline Stone and his auntie Alice Stone.

Just to update I ordered Ronald's birth, marriage, death certificate and WW2 record. None of which revealed his fathers name. On his marriage certificate it did say Arthur Stone - Seaman, but I know his mothers name was Caroline Stone so it's probably made up. There are no baptism records for Ronald either so it's unlikely I will ever know his father's name.

Where have you looked in trying to find a baptism record?
