Hi Bobby
They may be the from the branch of the Glasgow/Helensburgh family. Archibald son of Robert McNicol moved to work in Manchester, Married Jessie Love and remained there.
From the family bible.....
Archibald McNicol
Helensburgh schooling. With Beith Stevenson & co. Eastern merchants in Manchester and remained with them all his life. "Has all the intense honour and unselfishness of his father along with somewhat of his easy temper and lack of ambition." (R.S. McNicol (1895).
