Ann, this is an old thread.

If Nathan needs any help, he would be better to start his own thread.

Welcome to the boards, Nathan.

Andy is unlikely to be checking this thread after 8 years, but you could try sending him a message by clicking on his name. As long as he still has access to the linked mail account, he'll be told that you are trying to contact him.
Good luck.

Hi

I'd be grateful for any further details you have. My great grandmother was Nora Hopkins who cam to Lincoln from Co. Mayo, so any further details on the Hopkins would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

They were probably catholic. My grandmother Agnes Hopkins b. 1912 was sent to Lincoln, England to live with her sister Norah when she was expecting my mother Nora Hopkins. Father was James Feeney / Feeny a married man ( family from Galway ) . I have found various records online at Knock for marriage and births for Martin Hopkins.

I've been trying to trace my Irish relatives but with little success. The only info I have is that they lived in Tirawley, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo. The following is from the Leitrim - Roscommon 1901 Census :-

Hopkins Martin(41) farmer/tailor Anne(30) wife (possibly 2nd)-John(19)-Bridget(16)-Lilly(15)-Mary Michaael(9)-Kate(6)-Martin(7mo.)

No success in tracing Martins father. Anne his 2nd wife was born Caulfield. No idea of his first wife and mother to the older children

hoping someone has Irish resources available.

Many thanks
