My name is Joan Roberts. I was born 4th November 1935. My parents were Arthur Roberts born in 1899 and my mother's name was Ivy Rose Roberts nee Adams born 12th April 1913. My parties married in the Parish of St Johns, Waterloo Road SE1 on the 2nd May 1932.

I was evacuated at the beginning of the War in 1939 to Exeter.

I believe that my parents separated during the war years and at this time I lost contact with all members of my family.
I would love to know if there are any siblings still alive from any subsequent relationships my parents had.

Are there any ex-evacuees out there who were sent to Pinhoe and remember me. Names such as Jean Feltham and Pat Platt .

With such a common name it is difficult to search.
Any ideas where they were born and did Arthur have any middle names?

Looks like Arthur had no middle name the marriage is reg in Lambeth 1d 398.
Do you know of any other siblings Joan ?
Also there are a few matches for your friends name on this site do you know when they where born? and is Pat short for Patricia ?

Hi Alan - I'm new at this! I think I sent a private message.

If I have the correct birth certificate for my father he was born on 17th November 1899 Thornwood Common registered in Epping. His name on that certificate is Albert Arthur. I was born on 4th November 1935 and my birth certificate states that my father is Albert Arthur.

My mother Ivy Rose Adams was born on 12th April 1913 registered address Dibden St Islington. Her parents were William Goodman Adams and Edith Elizabeth Adams.

The marriage certificate of my parents refers to my father as Arthur Roberts. Looks like the name Albert had been dropped. I do not know why and I feel that this will cause confusion.

My parents separated during the war years but I strongly believe I have a half sister by the name of Janet. I believe this to be another child of my fathers.

I am aged 73 and my parents will obviously now be deceased but I would like to know where and where they died if at possible as I would love to know if I have any surviving relatives today.

Pat Platt may have been called Patricia. She would be around my age now 73/74 as we were at infants school together. She would have been born in or around the Lambeth area of London as was myself.
