Just to say Kelly - I have been looking on and off for the past couple of days, and I am sure other people have been also.

We have not forgotten you. - It is just that I haven't found anything yet which I can definately connect.

I will keep at it as I have a few thought and will let you know if I find something which I know is correct.

the family that christine in portugal found is the one on the 1901 census, showing walter was 8 years old, so would have been born about 1893, thomas king and mary a (i need her maiden name to get there marriage cert and gro number)thomas died before 1912 as he was dec on walters marriage cert,
i can then forget walter, and go back through them, i have certificates 1d 580 / 1d 284 / 1d 488, which i have now sent back to southwark council, perhaps someone else may be able to use them, i have seen walters grave so i know he was here,
my mum/s brother said that he was told walter was born to an american woman, who didnt want him and gave him away to some people, perhaps this is why i cannot find him, anyway any help to find thomas and mary a would be appreciated,

Kelly, I was suggesting that you looked at the 1911 census as that wa a lot closer to his marriage date.

It may not be your Walter but you can view te transcription for 10 credits. He should have the same occupation as on marriage cert and there may be other family members and the actual place born.

It's very difficult to find the correct birth reg as it seems to be a popular name.

There is this Walter King in 1911

Hi Kelly,
Had another look regarding Peckham. Peckham is a sub district under Camberwell.
You can view this in BMD.
After doing a search for a name, or name in a district. From the list of names provided.
Click on Camberwell, this will open a new window.

In the new window. Click on link where its says.... "information about it can be found here".
This will bring up the Camberwell Registration district & shows the sub-districts which come under it.

Seems Walter is a bit of an enigma.
The latest entries for Walter King in Camberwell are

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Dec 1883
KING Walter Herbert Camberwell 1d 804
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Jun 1889
King Walter Edwin Camberwell 1d 900
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are no other entries until 1902.

For Edgar King the only entries in Camberwell from 1880 to 1911 are
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Jun 1888
KING Edgar Wilfred Camberwell 1d 811
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Dec 1899
King Edgar Edward H Camberwell 1d 811
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regards,
Steve.

but the one at st saviours, is where he was married to ester waller, i have all of her information, but can only go back to thomas which was his fathers name, if this makes sence
