Oh I see, thanks anyway. Do you have any advise as to how I could find out the names of parents dating back earlier than this point then? Are we talking parish churches????

Hi Russell,

Before 1837 it is a case of parish registers and re Duncan Carlisle, did you mean born 1820 or married then?

The marriage would have been around 1820. Though that is just a guess as their first child was born in 1821. thanks

You cannot order it, as I said no marriage certificates were issued before 1837

hello,i am looking for the death of my grandmother Gertrude Ann(or Amy)Peerless.Born dec 1921 croydon,married a Harper and them my grandfather Eric Taylor,two children (could be more) Sylvia and Ivy.I can find a death in 1998 (here she died a Barnett) but family members say she died at around the age of 42 in Croydon but i can't find it.Would you be so kind as to help me.Thankyou Kelly

Hello,
I am looking for Madeline Lanefear who was borne Italy about 1863.
She got british nationality, which is in the 1911 census so i believe, any chance of marriage or death cert . She married a William Joseph Gardner who was borne about 1864 they had two children Florence borne 1886,Ernest borne 1888. also trying to trace his parents.

Hi Jackie, Could you please help me find a Mary (Hannah) Pease on the 1871 census,she was born at Colton, Whitkirk near Leeds in 1852, I think she's probably in the Bradford area as she married there in 1872.

Looking for this family in the 1841 census: Amos Bottrill, or Botterill (36) Maria (28) and children Amy (8), Arthur (5), James (6 months) - Barwell Leicestershire

Looking for Elizabeth Horne (circa 1836) Born - Whitwork, Leicestershire in the 1841,51,61 census.
