This is probably a long shot, but here goes ...
Mary Robertson (1740 ... Stirling Scotland) m. Robert Lorn (1730 ... Stirling????)
Their daughter Elizabeth Lorn (1768 ... Gargunnock .... Stirling)
m. Thomas Pattison 17/11/1797 at Glasgow Lanark Scotland
Their children Robert Lorn and William were born at Preston Pans, and R.L. was crew on the first steamship to sail from Glasgow to Aust. and he settled in Morpeth NSW.
Doing the family tree searches here in Aust are fairly straight forward (so far) but it is the search for earlier family members that have me stumped.
Mary & Robert (Robertson/Lorn) are my g.g.g.g.g/parents, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot ..... Shirley O'Brien .... nee Pattison

Thankd you all for your help - it is appreciated.
Even though I have been on this site for a few years, I'm relatively new to climbing around in the branches of thes family trees. Researching here in Aust is simpler (for some!!!). but when it comes to research prior to Aussie settlement things become tricky.....
Cheers .... Shirley
