Many thanks for your help everyone. The one from Portland Rose is correct. I managed to get the marriage certificate and they married in Clerkenwell. Also, apparently, where they lived was so close to the border some of the references state Hereforshire. I am grateful for your help. sorry I didnt reply sooner, but havent been doing the tree for a little while. Is there any info Richard and Ann. Mary's parent seem elusive as well.. |

Why is the Clerkenwell marriage (found by Portland Rose ) being ruled out? Many a couple who had come to london for work married there for financial reasons -it was cheaper than travelling all the way home -both my grandparents did this |

I am trying to find any info on Mary Waters married to George Powell in the Hay Breconshire area. They had a son Thomas Waters Powell born 1851 in Hay Breconshire in 1851. The family immigrated to Yass NSW AUSTRALIA on the CONSTITUTION in 1852 |
