Hi Lorraine

Wow !!

Thank you so much-what a surprise-I thought the Debrusks were Polish !

The only info on Margaret Marshall I have is that her parents were Thomas Marshall and Margaret Swan (got that from Ancestry World Wide Trees !) but no dates-I assume she would have been born about the same time as her husband c 1900
She died in the 1980s I think
I think she was of Scottish descent

Where would Immigrants have entered Canada in the 1800s-would it be Montreal ?

I would be grateful for any additional info you can find !

Cheers
Elizabeth

canadian records are not so easy to search there are very few after 1939 do you recoginise the aunts name he went to visit in usa, if she was his aunt she was probably his mother or fathers sister.

the census I found in usa with a vincent married to a myrtle does that look likely?

Lorraine - I am trying to find out what happen to Charles Gaze born on 13 October 1850 in Clapham, he moved to Liverpool and became a seaman, the last record that fits him is in the 1900 USA census, where is an out of work cook/seaman at Heron St. Coasting Sch. Aberdeen, Chehalis, Washington. I would love to find a date of death for him, or what happened to him. Many thanks. Michael Gaze.

HI Lorraine
Thanks for all your help you are a star. I have wondered for a long time the were abouts of my great uncel Vincent Brown who went to Canada 1911, Do you think the death or marriage records would be easy to track down? So I do have some relations in the U.S. How do I search for them?
Thanks for all your help, if you have any more time to search I would be very greatfull.

Thanks so much for looking up the US census for George Vockenson. I was hoping it would give a bit more information.

I do have the other records you mentioned. Martin Vockenson I believe to be my ggg grandfather but can't find what connection he is to George. Appear to be family members - I see that a sister to Mary Drummer, George's wife was a witness to the marriage of Martin's daughter Maria.

Not a very common name but have come across various spellings of the name - probably due to mistranscription. Will haver to keep looking.

Again thanks very much for doing the look-up. It's appreciated.

Marie.

Hi Lorraine

Would you be able to do a look up for a George Michael Vockenson on the 1790 US Census please. I believe him to be either the brother or son of my ancestor Martin Vockenson but have not been able to find birth records for either of them. George Michael married Mary Drummer in 1772 in London, England and had four daughters born between 1776 and 1781 according to the IGI records.

When I did a Google search this is what came up, showing a George Michael living in Philadelphia in 1791.

St. John Street
(1791) #67 St. John's St., Vockenson, George Michael, Sugar refiner (1791) #73 St. John's St., Huhn, John, weaver (1791) #75 St. John's St., Huhn, Daniel, ...
mysite.verizon.net

I did find the 1790 Census on Ancestry but as I do not have a World Sub I'm not able to look at the record.

I would really appreciate it if you could check this record for me.

Thanks.

Marie.

Hi Lorraine,
Sorry i don`t know what the g f stands for.
I have the marriage certificate for Arthur and Beatrice.
Arthur`s father was Frederick a Plumber and it does not say he was deceased.
There was a witness Ada Gater.
The only Ada i could find in Birmingham was on the 1891 census
born 1876 and a sister Marion F Gater born1881.
There mother Hannah was a Widow,but i can`t find a marriage for
Hannah.
