Hi

I know this name is Scottish, (Dobie) my father was born in stirling. I am trying to find out the origin of this name and where it comes from. I know the Scottish clan/Tartan is Sinclair if that helps. Love to hear from someone!!!

Hi
my mum was a dobbie and this part of the family started in Fintry Stirlingshire.....there are a lot of dobbie's around and the name spelt different as well dobie or dobbie....my sister says she was told thhe name was french and they came from france to fight in the Napolionic war arriving in ayrshire....a feel this could be a fantasy of her's as she has been in america for a long time but who know's.... :-)
