Find Ancestors

Could any one help i am trying to find information on a William Eastol 1879 from wisbeach , his father maybe William Rudland, i don,t have any more information on his mother or any other members of family, this is all i have.

Have you looked for him on the 1881 census ,free to search on Family Search site. Plus born 1879 his birth should be registered, try FreeBMD.

looks like he may have married BUT there are several William Eastol's from Wisbeach although he is the youngest at his birth year Would suggest you get the birth cert first

FreeBMD wont give his parents names will give you the GRO refs which you use to buy the birth cert. He doesn't seem to be showing on census prior the the 1911 census given, so you will have to buy his birth cert for his parental info.
From the 1911 census seems he married Sarah Fuller .I gave you the marriage ref above !

Thank you to all who helped me

Further to this, I am also looking for William Eastol's parentage - more info at least. I sent to Cambridge and to Norfolk for the birth certificate, as it seems unclear exactly where the border between Cambs and Norfolk was, and it changed over time, but neither county could find him!

I did get his marriage certificate from his marriage to Sarah Fuller, and that is where William Rudland is named as his father, but deceased and no more info than that.

Has anyone any inspiration as to where I could go from there? I think he had a brother Frederick, who appears in some of the census records as Fred Clingo and sometimes as Fred Eastol/Easthall.

I know his mother was Elizabeth as discussed above, and her mother was Emily Eastoll, whose mother was Maria Eastoll - they were all [I think] born at Rockland workhouse. I believe that Elizabeth's mother Emily may also have had two other children there - another Emily and a John William. Maria married Burnham Wiles after she had had Emily, and it is in his household that Maria and Elizabeth are found in 1881. No clue as to where Emily and the other children may have gone...

This is my husband's family and I am finding this branch of it hard going for a novice, so all advice is welcome, and if you can see that I have made mistakes, I am pleased if you tell me!
