A quick search of SP shows that between 1908 and 1913 there was just one child called Thomas McSorley born in Scotland.
Possibly named Edward Thomas McSorley


The child was registered in Govanhill, Lanarkshire 1910
There is no infant death showing for a this child, yet I cannot find a trace of him on a 1911 census, in Scotland or Ireland, or anywhere else in the UK

You need to search at http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk His birth certificate will give his parents details i.e. his mother's maiden surname and the date and place of their marriage. You can look on the same site for siblings but be aware that you have to order the certificates for births after 1908 and this can be quite expensive.
