It's possible that she was recorded on 1901 and 1911 with husband even though she wasn't actually in the house! Wouldn't explain 2 Lucys' deaths though. I'm assuming they have same birth year parents' details on the gravestones, hence the puzzle? How did you find out about the other Lucy's burial?

No she was not named after a child which had died as they were both alive 1901/1911 census

it seems to be common practice back then to name a chikld after one who had died - in my Dad's family, baby Nancy died and when the next little girl was born the children all said "We have another Nancy" so she was called Nancy too

Can someone help me. John & Martha Bennett 1861/71/81/91 census living in Shrewsbury Shropshire with their 10 children they then moved to Small Heath Birmingham and in the 1911 census Martha a widow is living with 8 children (she states she has had 9 children 8 iving) but she did have 10 children baptised at her local church in Shrewsbury.
My problem is she had a daughter Lucy 1867 (who was my g.Grandmother) who married in 1895 to William Shotton and is listed with him in the 1901 & 1911 census forms. So why is Lucy listed in the 1901 census living next door to her parents with her married sister Emily and in the 1911 census back living with her mother Martha.
Also my Lucy died in 1940 and was buried in Shrewsbury Cemetery, yet the 'other' Lucy was buried in Yardley Green Cemetery in 1913 ?
All the other names/dates for her siblings are correct
