Hi I am trying to trace this ancestor of mine and her parents. All that I have been able to find out so far is that she was born in c1821 in Eastington, Glocestershire and that she died in 1901. She married a James Allen in 1849 in gloucestershire. I have found her on the 1851, 61 and 81 census and on the 51 census Mary's mother Susannah is living with Mary and her husband. However, I have been unable to find Mary and her mother on the 1841 census and so I do not know Mary's father;s name and nor do I know her Mother's maiden name. Any help in finding more information on Mary's parents would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Thanks for that, I had found a Robert Stone on an 1841 census but I wasn't sure if it was the tight family as although he had a daughter Mary I couldn't read the mother's name. However, it's now looking as though that might be them. Mary's father was dead by the time she married so I'm unsure if his name would be on the marriage certificate. As far as I know the family spent their whole lives in gloucestershire. |

Father's name should still be on cert even if deceased - and it might even say so if you are fortunate! |
