I recieved this PM from Beverley today. I have explained to her about duplicate threads and how to get back to them.
Hopefully we will here back from her soon.

I am very new at this (website), don't really know what I am doing regarding replyingetc, but I guess I do it this way.
Thanks, for the information you sent. Some seems OK, the "FINDLEY" bit is spelt wrong though, and the age of Mary Ann in one seems odd, but Padstowe is where 2 of my Great Uncles were born. Being in the Army, the family moved all around England and eventually went back to Montrose.
I do not know whether Mary Ann Smith Findlay married, but I guess she did, nobody in the family seems to know about her and where she went. I just don't know where to look for her and being a women makes it hard.

According to a tree on Ancestry, some of Mary's siblings emigrated, married and died abroad. And so it is quite possible that this is what happened to Mary.

Susan, I know what happened to all the other 9 children and where they died in Scotland, England and overseas, Mary Ann Smith Findlay is the one that I can't find anything about.
Someone did say she might have gone to Glasgow, but who knows, no relations that I am in contact with in America, England or Australia knows anything of her.
