Here's Arthur's birth:

Births Dec 1889
Rouse Arthur Marylebone 1a 553

The 2 children missing from your list are Mary's not Annie's.

Janice

Janice Report 28 Aug 2010 21:09

Do the ages on the marriage and death certs match up?

Raymond

Raymond Report 28 Aug 2010 21:06

I know of
frederick 1893
florence 1895
harold 1900
doris 1905-1937
annie 1885
charles 1887
dorothy alice 1898-1898
Arthur 1890

I would like to concentrate on Arthur, as he is my grandfather, and mystery goes onto another dimension, might be interesting for you this one, and I do have arthurs marriage and death certs, and i have been trying to get his birth cert with no luck, do you need more info

Janice

Janice Report 28 Aug 2010 21:06

Daisy Louise is the oldest. Through her you have 2nd cousins in Kent.

John Joseph is next. We wont know if that marriage is his or his father's until the cert arrives.

Next is Annie - nothing on her yet.
Charles didnt survive infancy.

Next is Arthur, your grandfather.

Then Frederick George who we think married Ellen Kenison.

Next Florence

then Dorothy Alice who died.

Harold John next
then Doris.

Janice

Janice Report 28 Aug 2010 20:51

Well John seems to have fathered 10 children, 2 of whom didn't survive. Do you know anything about the others?

Janice

Janice Report 28 Aug 2010 20:50

Is Arthur's wife Catherine Mary Usher, married in 1914? Do you want us to work on her?

This her death?

Mmmmmmm defo forward. Iknow of a poss hiccup in going this way that you will encounter. Arthurs wife is very mysterious and to be honest hasnt moved very far forward, but I rekon you two would love the challenge, but move forward with John please.

Janice

Janice Report 28 Aug 2010 19:08

Ray,
Which way do you want this to move? John's siblings forwards or more generations backwards?

Astra

Astra Report 28 Aug 2010 18:52

Back again. Preparing the food for Barbecue and have to keep coming and going.
Janice I can't find Mary in 1901. Did have a look earlier and just had another search but can't locate her. She is probably working somewhere as a servant and has been badly transcribed. She doesn't come up using her name or her birth place. Will have another look later.

Astra

Astra Report 28 Aug 2010 17:57

1911 for Daisy. Yes she's there and she's still Cosley! On the original it is definitely Cosby.
Oh how sad. She says she has been married for 31 years had 2 children both of which are still living, I wonder if she ever knew how near she was to her wayward husband! I also wonder if John Joseph ever met any of his half brothers while he was in the army!

Hi Ray,

E-mail first, explaining who you are interested in. You don't need to ask them to open their tree until you've established it's the right family. If it is, they'll probably offer.

The marriage cert for Mary Lofts and John in Newton Abbott in 1880

The marriage cert of John Joseph Cosby and Margaret Jones in 1916

and if you are feeling rich, the death cert of John Joseph Cosby in 1942.

:-))

Raymond

Raymond Report 28 Aug 2010 17:42

you have blown me away. What do you want me to do? I will request permission to look at the family tree's, what certs do you want me to get?
